Why we built this

When someone dies, the people who loved them are often scattered. Photos are on different phones. Stories are in different heads. Someone always ends up chasing everyone by text, trying to pull it all together before the moment passes.

We built Northstar Keep to give families a better way. A single, quiet place where anyone who knew the person can contribute photos, messages and memories, in their own time, from wherever they are. The person creating the page stays in control: nothing appears until they approve it.

We wanted it to be free. We wanted it to last. We did not want anyone to worry about a subscription expiring or a platform disappearing and taking everything with it. Every page on Northstar Keep is permanent and free, always.

We are a small, independent company registered in the UK. We take privacy seriously. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. Everything you add to a page belongs to you, and you can download it at any time.

Privacy by default

Every memorial page is private until you choose otherwise. You decide who can view it and who can contribute. Nothing is public without your explicit decision.

Your data belongs to you

You can download everything on your page at any time: all photos, videos, messages and memories. If Northstar ever ceased to exist, your archive would remain yours.

Free, permanently

Creating and keeping a memorial page is free. It does not expire. We will never delete a page because a payment lapsed. Upgrades exist for people who want more, but they are never required.

Calm, not commercial

Grief is not a product. We do not sell advertising, we do not push upsells at difficult moments, and we do not share your information with third parties.
