AI Transparency
Last updated: March 2025
Our position
We think people using Northstar Keep deserve to know clearly whether artificial intelligence is involved in handling their content - especially content that may be personal, sensitive, or connected to grief.
This page describes how we currently use AI, and where we do not.
What we do not do
We do not currently use AI to:
- –Read, analyse, or summarise the content of memorial pages
- –Process or classify photos, messages, or memories you upload
- –Make moderation decisions about submitted contributions
- –Generate content on your behalf
How we built this
Like most software products today, Northstar Keep was built with the assistance of AI coding tools. These tools helped write and review code - they did not have access to user data or content.
Infrastructure
We use third-party services to host and run the platform (see our Privacy Policy for the full list). Some of these providers may use AI in their own infrastructure operations - for example, for security monitoring or spam filtering. We do not control how they operate internally, but we choose providers with clear data policies.
If this changes
If we introduce any AI features that touch user content, we will update this page and be clear about what they do, why, and how to opt out where possible. We will not add AI processing of memorial content silently.
