Common questions
Is Northstar Keep free?
Yes. You can create a memorial page and keep it online for free, for as long as you want. There is no time limit and no card needed to start. If you later want more storage or extra features there are paid options, but a complete, private memorial costs nothing.
Do family and friends need an account to add photos or messages?
No. Anyone you invite can add photos, messages and memories without creating an account or logging in. They open the link you send and contribute. This is the thing most people are looking for and most platforms get wrong, asking grieving friends to sign up before they can leave a memory.
Who can see the memorial?
You decide. Every memorial is private by default. You can keep it visible only to people you share a link with, ask people to be approved before they can view it, or open it up if you would prefer. The person who creates the memorial controls who can see it and who can add to it, and that can change at any time.
Are there ads on the memorial?
No. We do not show ads on your memorial, and we never sell anything to the people who visit a memorial. No gifts, no upsells. The page stays about the person who died, not about us.
Will you sell my information or the memorial's content?
No. We do not sell your data or the contributions people add, and the email addresses of people who contribute are never used for marketing. The content belongs to your family, not to us.
How is Northstar Keep different from other memorial sites?
Most memorial sites are built around fundraising, or they fill the page with ads and upsells, or they make everyone sign up. Northstar is built privacy first: private by default, no account needed to contribute, no ads, nothing sold to visitors. It is a calm, family-controlled place to gather memories, not a social network and not a donation tool.
What happens to the memorial over time?
A memorial is meant to last, so it stays online for as long as you keep it. We are building Northstar for the long term, and the memorial you create is yours.
Who is behind Northstar Keep?
Northstar Keep is an independent UK company. It is not part of any larger funeral or cemetery group, and it was built to give families a private, calm place to remember someone.
