About these terms

These terms govern your use of Northstar Keep, operated by Northstar Keep Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17140276). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

The service

Northstar Keep lets you create memorial pages, control who can see them, invite others to contribute, and gather photos, messages and memories in one place.

We may update or change features of the service over time. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes that affect how you use the platform.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that takes place under your account. Please tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you upload: photos, text, memories and other material. By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to store and display it for the sole purpose of providing the service. We do not use your content for anything else.

You are responsible for making sure you have the right to upload and share what you add. Please do not upload content that belongs to someone else without their permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Northstar Keep to:

• –Upload content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes the rights of others
• –Impersonate another person, or create pages without the authority to do so
• –Attempt to access accounts or data that do not belong to you
• –Use the service in a way that disrupts or damages it for others

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms.

Plans and payment

Creating a memorial page is free. We also offer paid plans:

• –Keep, a subscription billed monthly or yearly, which unlocks more storage and additional features.
• –Keep Forever, a single one-off payment for permanent access to those features, with no recurring billing.

What each plan includes and costs is shown at the point of purchase.

Payments are handled by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited), who act as the merchant of record and seller for paid plans. When you buy a plan, your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms. Paddle processes the payment and issues your receipt. We do not see or store your payment card details.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account settings or by emailing us, and we will email you before a renewal is taken. Our refund policy explains when you can get your money back: see Refunds.

Availability

We aim to keep the service available and running well, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. There may be periods of maintenance or unexpected downtime. We will do our best to keep disruption to a minimum and to tell you about planned outages where we can.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Closing your account

You can close your account at any time from your account settings, or by emailing us. We will delete your personal data in line with our Privacy policy. Closing your account may also remove memorials you administer, so we recommend downloading your content first, and handing a memorial over to someone else if you want it to continue.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this does not affect statutory protections you have under the law of the country you live in.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the most recent version. For significant changes, we will email account holders where possible. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
